This is commonly known as "cracking joints." However, there is more to this than hearing a "pop." The Chiropractic Adjustment can be used to improve joint motion, muscular tension, sensory-motor integration, and the health of the nervous system. The adjustment combined with other therapies helps increase the benefits that you will get from physical exercises and activities.
Manual therapies include massage, soft tissue mobilization, various connective tissue techniques, myofascial release, craniosacral techniques, mobilization of joints, nervous tissue, and the abdomen. These are performed to release soft tissue adhesions, trigger points, improve joint motion, release nerve entrapments, reduce pressure and stress; helping you get more out of your movements.
The goal is to move from passive care to more active therapies. These exercises are more specific to a condition to help increase the strength, coordination, or flexibility of muscles; improve the range of motion of joints; enhance balance; or develop endurance, stability, and proper muscle patterning. Combined with other therapies provides a holistic plan of action.
The goal is to progress from therapeutic exercises towards more dynamic movements that can support and be integrated in your everyday activities. This way you are constantly learning how to maintain and improve your body and mind. This helps bridge the gap between therapeutic exercise and recreational activities.
Most women who are pregnant have a positive experience with Chiropractic Care. Combining the adjustment with the other therapies can help to strengthen the pelvis, body, and mind. This type of care provides support throughout your pregnancy and after delivery to keep you and your baby active and healthy.
I believe the future of our children's education will integrate physical movements with academics through motor-cognition. Movements are the concrete physical actions that provide us with the ability to acquire knowledge and understanding. The better you move the better your can learn.
